A group of people from annecto Yarraville sang an acapella version of Queen’s We Will Rock You and other songs to over 200 friends and family at the Yarraville Community Centre as part of their annual Christmas Choir performance.
The group comprising of eight people; get together every week towards the end of each year to learn and practice a collection of songs, to present to family and friends prior to Christmas. Over the years, the group have sung a mix of traditional Christmas Carols and contemporary music.
This year’s decision to sing a version of We Will Rock You resulted in an ear-thumping performance, with some rigorous toe tapping and impromptu dance from the audience. Choir master, Kathy Feehan from the Yarraville Community Centre directed the performance, which each year becomes more professional and polished as the group settle in to a comfortable rhythm with each other.
Big thank you to Kathy the Choir Master, the Yarraville Community Centre and Cheryl Maiore, the Community Development Worker that supports the group.
