annecto celebrated its 10th year as the major event sponsor and are proud of to be a big part of an event that celebrates the importance of women in sport and honours the competitive spirit and brilliant competitor that the infamous Dot Jenkinson was.
Bendigo East duo Glenda Holt and Bronwyn McDermott took out the 2015 annecto Dot Jenkinson Pairs Tournament.
The pair were the last standing out of 124 pairs that hotly contested the annual event, now in its 19th year. Women from across Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia converge on Mildura for two days of ferocious sporting competition and fun.
“Events like the Dot Jenkinson Tournament are instrumental in bringing together a community,” explains Jason Minter, Manager of annecto Loddon Mallee and Far West NSW.
On the final night the players and family attend a themed gala dinner. This year’s theme was ‘oriental’, and the 300 strong crowd fully embraced it.
Second place getters were Julie Ross and Pattie Payne from Golden Square Bowling Club and third place was a tie going to Lorraine Lee and Lyn Prosser from Loxton/Marion Bowling Club in South Australia and Dianne Gardner and Shirley Pupillo from Mildura Bowling Club.
The knock-out finals over five ends led to Ross eliminating Pauline Gardner 5-3 and Holt defeating Harman 3-2 in a nail biter.
