annecto Community Business

Our services and support to over 13,000 people throughout the northern, eastern and western metropolitan Melbourne, Grampians and Loddon Mallee regions ensures that the whole person; their physical, emotional, and social well-being is at the core of all that we do.

Community Care is not 9 to 5.

annecto offers three types of support for when things go bump in the night! We believe that should you require support outside of business hours, we can be there for you.

Sends support workers to attend to requests for help from people with disabilities, older people and their families and carers.

We support people to engage and participate within the community and to be assisted in their own home. Planned Support allows for an individual's aspirations to be realised through the service, considering age, cultural and religious beliefs, disability and personal likes and dislikes. This service is also available to be purchased by external agencies as well as individuals in the community

  • After-Hours Response Team (ART)

Operates from 5pm - 9am on Weekdays and 24 Hrs a day on Weekends and Public Holidays. ART provides full after hours replacement services to annecto, external agencies and individuals.

Provides free support, in-home and non-medical emergency after-hours assistance to eligible people with a disability, older persons, and their carers living in the Eastern, Northern and Western Melbourne Metropolitan and Grampians Regions of Victoria.

Support includes short-term personal care, telephone and in-home support.

Funded by the Department of Human Services, EARS operates between the hours of 5pm - 9am weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays, every day of the year.

Upon calling 1800 72 72 80, an operator will take contact details and an experienced crisis manager will contact the caller promptly to discuss their situation. This may result in a Field Response Worker being dispatched to the caller's home immediately. If medical assistance is required an ambulance will be called.

All Field Response Officers are professionally trained and experienced in working with people with disabilities, older people and carers. Field response Officers have undergone current Police Checks, First aid, working with Children Checks and participate in on-going training.

What is a non-medical emergency or crisis? A non-medical emergency is generally defined as something that can not wait until the next morning.

This may include a situation where the main carer is called away, leaving the person with a disability without a carer for a period of time. Carers can use the service if they find themselves needing extra support in respite when they have been up consecutive nights caring and need a break.
